4 Month Squeal

Four months old on June 11, 2012 and today Natalie weighed 15lbs 13oz and is 26in long! We had our fourth month appointment today which included immunizations and making sure she was on track developmentally. Everything looks great except those silly crossed-eyes she has! Now that I mentioned it, I'm sure you'll notice it in all the pictures, but I'm not supposed to worry about it until after 9mos...but I can't help but worry! I'm just a mom, I suppose.

Things we accomplished in the last month: finding our toes and rolling over back to front! It was the cutest thing the first day that Natalie found her toes. She was laying on the bed while I was getting ready in the morning and managed to grab a foot in both hands. It was so cute and funny, I called Chris over to see and we both marveled on how our little girl was growing up so quickly! And Natalie has been chewing on those feet ever since!

Right before she turned 4mos this week, Natalie finally mastered rolling over from her back to her front. She has been able to roll to her sides and has occasionally rolled from front to back (whenever I put her in tummy time, she manages to find her way back to her back), but one day she had this crazy drive to go back onto her tummy! I'm not sure why because she absolutely hates her tummy, but she keeps trying to turn over onto it. Babies are just silly sometimes. The only problem is I can't leave her on the activity mat for too long and get anything else done. I'm too busy running over every few minutes to flip her back over! Yes yes, first time mom here.

One of our adventures this last month as been my graduation. I graduated on May 20th with my Master's of Arts in Counseling (emphasis School Counseling). I finished my program back in January and decided to walk in May to celebrate and bring a close to this chapter of my life. I'm so glad I was able to finish before Natalie arrived; life with a new baby is hectic enough! But the question of when I start actively looking for a job still looms over me. Neither Chris or I are ready to put Natalie in a daycare program and counseling jobs are scarce, but I will need to start my career eventually. One day at a time, I suppose.

Another adventure was visiting our Arizona relatives over Memorial day. Chris' aunt and uncle and cousins live out in Prescott, AZ and we decided to visit them over the long weekend. We had such a blast hanging out and enjoying their company. I'm glad we were able to see them! It was a long trip out there with a few hiccups here and there, but definitely worth it and Natalie was able to finally meet her great aunt and uncle!

As Natalie gets older, life with a baby gets much easier. The things I stressed about when she was a newborn are so different compared to now! She's much more alert and entertained by things that it makes taking her out and about much easier. I'm looking forward to the next few months as our stationary little girl starts to become mobile!
